Movie Monday: Stitch Mount

One of the biggest concepts that I didn’t understand when I started knitting was stitch mount, as in which way stitches face.  I had such a limited understanding of what I was doing, that when I looked at the stitches on the needle, I did not know the difference between a twisted stitch and a regular stitch.  In fact, at first, I didn’t even know that stitches had an orientation! I figured that if I kept making my stitches the same way, they should go on the needle the same way.  Right?

Theoretically.  It is true that stitches do indeed have an orientation and it is easy as a beginner to get them turned around.  Todays movie features correct stitch mount, how to tell if your stitches are twisted and how to fix them.  Enjoy!
