Ball Winder: A ball winder is an angled shaft (to which one attaches the end of a skein of yarn) which is attached to a base with a crank and a clamp for a table. Beater: The beater is the part of the loom that is used to push the weft (woven fabric) together after the shuttle has passed through the warp with the yarn. The beater is composed of the reed and beater bars. Top
